N.J. man sold a dozen homemade guns to uncover agents, feds say

A man from Burlington County has been indicted after federal agents alleged he sold them a dozen guns that were made at home using a 3D printer.
Cody Starr, 35, of Mount Holly, was indicted on Wednesday on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a machine gun and four counts each of engaging in the business of firearms trafficking without a license, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and distribution of methamphetamine, the U.S. Attorney’s Office District of New Jersey said. He will appear in Camden federal court at later date.
Between October and November of 2022, undercover agents investigating Starr made controlled purchases of homemade firearms or “ghost guns” from him, authorities said.
Law enforcement bought a total of 12 weapons from him, which were all determined to be ghost guns, federal prosecutors said. The agents also alleged that he was armed during four of the meetups.
During a later search of Starr’s home, federal agents seized 50 ghost guns, ammunition, various firearm parts and accessories and a 3D printer, according to the indictment.
